AGARTALA, March 5 (TIWN): Tripura BJP former MLA Arun Chandra Bhowmik on Sunday has condemned arrest of Congress leader Koustav Bagchi’s arrest.

“Koustav Bagchi is not only a Congress leader but also an advocate. I think, Tripura Lawyer Association also should protest against it, because afterall we are lawyers beyond politics”, said Arun Bhowmik.

The Kolkata police early on Saturday arrested Congress leader and advocate Koustav Bagchi after he allegedly criticised West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her “personal attack” on state Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. Bagchi is one of the Congress spokespersons in the state. However, he has been bailed out after the arrest.
