TIWN March 3, 2023

AGARTALA, March 3 (TIWN): BJP was successful to form Govt without any alliance but BJP not only lost its vote shares but also witnessed a drop of 11 seats with its alliance partner IPFT. BJP in 2018 Election got 36 seats and IPFT got 8 seats and altogether 44 seats were bagged by the BJP-IPFT, leaving only 16 for the Opposition Left Front. This time opposition CPI-M and Congress’s shared seats though ended by 14 seats but another opposition regional party Tipra Motha alone received 13 seats. Now, news analysis has been blaming Tipra Motha for indirectly helping BJP to win with narrow margins in non-ST seats by dividing opposition votes.
BJP has received 32 seats and IPFT 1. CM Manik Saha also won with a narrow margin and tight fights were faced in all seats.
From Prime Minister to top leaders’ multiple visits, huge funding and advertisements could not help BJP to increase its seats reflecting massive incumbency followed by unemployment, fake Vision Doc promises of 2018 and violence.
