AGARTALA, March 3 (TIWN): BJP has won 32 seats along with IPFT's 1 seat marking the majority in Tripura Assembly. But BJP which faced a tight competition with the opposition parties has secured only 39% votes proving 61% of the voters did not want BJP to come back. Opposition vote banks were divided between Tipra Motha and CPI-M/Congress alliance led the BJP's win in the poll. In 2018, BJP's vote share was 45% and got 44 seats in alliance with IPFT. 11 seats have dropped in this Assembly for BJP-IPFT alliance.
Tripura Election was held on February 16 and the result was declared on March 3rd.
