AGARTALA, Feb 2 (TIWN): Whether it’s his rebellious attitude against party’s internal politics or an attempt to repair his image in his constituency over last few years’ violence, BJP Minister Ramprasad Pal on Thursday said that he had punished goons of his own party by sending them into jail. “After BJP won, some of the party workers attacked opposition families by entering their houses. I have punished them and sent them to jail. I am considered a neutral leader here and that’s why I believe that the opposition will also vote for me”. It can be mentioned here that once Tripura High Court had summoned Ramprasad Pal over an incident where police took action only against the complainer (victim) based on counter complaint by Ram Prasad Pal’s group, whereas police did not take any action against the accused of Ramprasad Pal’s group. There was massive allegation of violence against Ramprasad Pal and his group in his locality.
He also turned a rebel when new CM was declared when he was spotted breaking chairs inside BJP party office.
After that BJP promoted him by giving him Ministry. Ram Prasad Pal is considered for having a close relation with Sudip Barman’s group when Barman started rebelling against Biplab Deb.
After today’s statement of Ram Prasad Pal, it’s again risky for BJP that the MLA may slip at any time from the party if can’t be satisfied with posts. Ramprasad Pal is one of the beginners who started working for BJP when BJP has no support in the state led him to claim himself many times as BJP’s founding member in Tripura.
