AGARTALA, Jan 21 (TIWN): ADC’s ruling party Tipra Motha’s active worker Pranjit Namasudra was murdered brutally by BJP workers on 18th January. Addressing a press meet, Tipra Motha party on Saturday declared a strike on January 23rd in the Kamalpur subdivision, Dhalai District.
Tipra Motha women wing leader Merry Debbarma expressed resentment over police's failure to arrest all the culprits behind the murder incident that took place before 3 days.
“Only four persons have been arrested whereas many others are still at large. We want immediate arrests of all. Pranjit was murdered but the administration stopped us from paying tribute to our slain worker on behalf of our party and today also, we wanted to march toward the SDM office but police did not allow us to do that. Our worker was murdered and we are forcefully obstructed from participating in agitations. This Govt has suppressed us from everywhere. It is depriving us of practicing our democratic rights”, Merry Debbarma told media.

“Amid so much pressure by the administration we have maintained Zero-Violence obeying our King’s order”, Debbarma added.
As per the claims of various opposition parties in Tripura, with Pranjit’s death, so far at least 25 opposition workers were murdered in the state in the last five years of BJP rule.
