AGARTALA, Nov 10 (TIWN): In a tragic incident, Sujit Debbarma, a 10323 teacher, resident of Khumulwng died of a heart attack today morning. With his death questions were raised to the incumbent Govt for its role to save 10323 teachers as it had promised a permanent solution for 10323 teachers. 10323 teachers were terminated without termination letters after Supreme Court’s verdict. The verdict has however lots of explanations and 10323 teachers are of the view that their jobs were not gone. BJP before the 2018 Election verbally and in written promised to solve 10323 teachers’ problems anyhow and to restore their jobs by constitutional amendments.
However, BJP has failed to keep its promise in 5 years and teachers are jobless for the last 32 months.
Assam’s present CM, Himanta Biswa Sarma in 2018 had introduced the constitutional amendment idea and he claimed ‘files were already exchanged with the center’ but unless BJP is switched to power in the state, the central govt can’t help. Today, Himanta Biswa Sarma and Tripura BJP are muted over the promise.
It’s fact Court had found “irregularities” in 10323 teachers’ recruitment which caused the termination but it is also fact that BJP promised to return the jobs to the sacked teachers if they vote for BJP enabling BJP to come to power in Tripura.
10323 teachers earlier had protested for long 52 days and now again have announced to launch of the biggest ever movement in Tripura seeking their rights.
