JOLAIBARI, July 29 (TIWN): Though even on Thursday, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath hyped ‘Quality Education’ and his tall statements over converting Bengali Medium Schools into English Medium, the reality continues to expose every day when checked in any rural school. In Raj Kumar Royaja Para Senior Basic School in Pilak, Jolaibari under South District, there are only four teachers for Class-1 to Class-8. Talking to the Incharge, he told media, “We are undergoing severe problems due to extreme teachers’ crisis in the school. For class-1 to class-8 there are only 4 teachers. Numbers of students are 106. Two classes are combined since the prayer is over and all the time we have to stay in class. It is turning annoying”.
“We have talked till the IS level but they said that teachers' crisis is a common problem in various schools and they are trying to get more numbers of teachers. Since the termination of 10323 teachers, our school is reeling under heavy problems”, said the incharge.
Tripura is burdened with over 20,000 vacant posts in teaching whereas TET qualified teachers are unemployed. Govt has taken no initiative to fill up 10323 teachers’ posts.
