AGARTALA, July 14 (TIWN): Over 50% of areas in ADC areas suffer due to the drinking water crisis in Tripura, though it is not a new problem in the state. An acute drinking water crisis was seen in Mungiakami Nunachara area under Teliamura. Talking to the media a local described how much struggle they have to do every day to collect minimum water. He said, “Everyday we have to walk a long to get little water. No basic facility was given in the entire area. We have to walk to 10 to 15 kms to get water. Especially in summer and dry seasons, water crisis problems become severe. Around 30 families are living in total 3 wards including Dhananjoy village”.
Locals have requested the Govt to end the problem as lives are becoming very harsh due to the drinking water crisis.
Oppositely, Tripura BJP Govt claimed that this Govt has ended water crisis problems and successfully gave water supply access to all families across Tripura.
They collect water from natural sources which are not often healthy and unhygienic.
