AGARTALA, June 26 (TIWN): BJP launched a broad daylight attack at Congress Bhawan on Sunday after by-poll results were declared where the main seat that is Agartala-6 constituency was won by Congress. Video footages clearly show that in the presence of Police, BJP workers led by Rajib Bhattacharjee, Papia Datta, Viki Prasad had attacked Congress Bhawan and all the vehicles which were kept in front of Congress Bhawan were vandalized. Soon, Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Sushanta Chowdhury reached the spot and BJP leaders entered police station demanding arrest of Congress party leaders alleging, Congress launched violence in another place.
A Congress worker was stabbed by BJP goons, taken to IGM hospital. No BJP hooligan was arrested.
However, the unprovoked violence generated by BJP has been recorded as evidence.
Sources said, Congress will move Court if Police do not take action against BJP leaders who were present during the violence.
Congress State President Birjit Sinha was also hospitalized after being attacked by BJP goons, who entered Congress Bhawan and attacked him.
