AGARTALA, Feb 19 (TIWN): CPI-M’s wing CITU staged a massive protest, gheraoed the AMC Office objecting to the ongoing hawkers’ eviction in Agartala.
Addressing media, former MP Shankar Prasad Datta slammed the AMC for its attitude of violating even the High Court’s order.
“First of all by rigging and violence, they have won the election. Now in the name of beautifying the city, hawkers are being evicted. We also want that Agartala city to be beautified, but does it mean that the people who are surviving with small businesses they will be inhumanly evicted without any alternative arrangement. We condemn the decision of the AMC and also demand a solution of it”, said Shankar Prasad Datta.
