AGARTALA, Nov 27 (TIWN): Reacting over Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb’s statement about “Vote Festival'', Trinamool leader Rajib Banerjee said, “I think if Biplab Deb was a politician then he would not have said so. Opposition party candidates were beaten up, not allowed to vote. Our candidates from Ward No-51 were attacked in a barbaric manner with a rod and belt. His one eye has been damaged. Our ward no-8, ward no-50, ward no-10 candidates are attacked too. Forget about Trinamool candidates, common men have alleged they could not cast votes. Senior citizens are telling the media how they have been prevented from casting votes. A 70 years old woman is saying, she and her husband were stopped from casting votes and when they asked, BJP attacked on her husband, leaving him critically injured”.
“Biplab Deb has claimed a peaceful election. However, I challenge Biplab Deb to go in various wards with the media and to ask how many of them could cast votes. How many people have ink on their finger?”, asked Rajib Banerjee.
