AGARTALA, Nov 13 (TIWN): In the darkness of night BJP’s hooligans destroying Congress campaign equipment, centering this congress gheraoed Kailasahar PS. During the Thana gherao Unkoti District Congress President Md. Badruzzaman said that since the flags, festoons and banners were put in support of Congress candidates in different wards under Kailasahar Subdivision, BJP miscreants tore up and took away those campaign equipment in the darkness of night. He further alleged that the Supreme Court of India had recently made it clear that the oppositions should be allowed to engage in independent politics in Municipal Poll. But even after such verdict BJP backed goons destroying Congress party’s campaign equipment.

Several times complaints were lodged at Kailasahar PS including Returning Officer in written but surprisingly no initiative has yet been taken by the Police.

Badruzzaman before media said, "If the Congress party's campaign equipment is destroyed in Kailasahar again from tonight, then no campaign equipment of the ruling BJP will be kept in Kailasahar".

The blockade was led by Tripura Provincial Congress President Birjit Sinha, Unakoti District Congress President Md. Badruzzaman, Congress leaders Runu Mia, Ashish Sengupta, Dilip Das, Tapan Das, Youth Congress leader Asim Dutt, Joydeep Dey and many others.
