AGARTALA, Nov 4 (TIWN): Nationally hiked prices of commodities have put the residents of Tripura under severe crisis where genuinely prices remain higher than other states. At the same time when from cooking gas to oil prices all are in hike-mode, massive taxation has hit the common men further. Heavy fuel prices have hit the common men in Tripura. On Sunday consumers’ egg eyes were witnessed after the price of fuel went up heavily. Normal petrol Rs. 110.28, Diesel Rs. 102.58 in Agartala. Promising ‘acche din’ the BJP came in power but recent data shows that the tax collection of the Govt has increased around 21% under the BJP Govt.
Earlier under Left Govt the tax revenue collection was only 9% and now it has increased to 30%.

Though Govt would claim that tax imposition and revenue collection are not always connection but it's a fact that from power to water, pipeline gas all charges are now burning with hikes in comparison to the previous years. The taxation also increased amid increasing unemployment and Covid situation.
In Tripura many starvation, suicidal deaths have been reported in recent years.
