AGARTALA, June 18 (TIWN): Rising drug trade in the BJP led state rampantly and in an abnormal rate unemployed youths are getting involved with illegal trade and selling contraband items.

However, police have been arresting the small scale drug traders but in many cases failed to arrest the kingpin who are running the drug empire in Tripura. Police arrested 2 small scale drug dealers from Paharmura area of Khowai.

Reportedly, 2 drug dealers were arrested from the Paharmura area of Khowai this morning, 130 grams of brown sugar, 200 yaba tablets, empty drug containers and huge amounts of cash including mobile phones were recovered from them. Police also seized a bike which was used for drug trading and brought the seized items and the arrested youths to the Khowai police station. It is said that the joint anti-narcotics operation of Khowai sub-divisional police and BSF has been a great success.

The police administration said that such operations will be continued in the upcoming days.
