AGARTALA, May 28 (TIWN): A Central Govt employee named Sukhdeb Acharjee, who is posted in Tripura University has been attacked by two Shibnagar Modern Club members after he raised voice against "Favourism" by the Club members during the vaccination drive. After the incident,  Sukhdeb Acharjee said, "I went to the Shibnagar Modern club at around 12 O'Clock and saw that the centre is almost empty. I tried to take my vaccine dose but the people who are sitting there told me that vaccine is allowed only for above 45 years of age. I just sat there for some time as a call came in my mobile. At that time, a boy below 30 years old came to get a vaccine. He was brought by his father who was talking to a Club member. I asked the boy regarding his age, but in reply he responded with a smile saying - All are manipulated. Then I talked to the people who are giving vaccines, which erupted into an argument and after that a man came out and he beat me up with a pen first and then another man had hit me with a helmet. I contacted my one brother and told the Traffic police about this incident. Everyone suggested that I call the media and that's why I have called the media. I have no personal, political view but Govt's rules are on one side and the reality is varied".
However, a senior member of the club apologised over the incident and said, he will investigate the matter.
