AGARTALA, April 26 (TIWN): Amid COVID-19 national crisis, more than 600 active cases in Tripura, CM Biplab Deb's programme caused gathering without social distancing though the COVID strain of 2021 is 70% more infectious.
He visited temples, inaugurated ambulance but the crowd could be avoided if wanted.
Earlier also, CM inaugurated ambulance but he did it from his home and in IGM hospital programme, social distancing was maintained but today, the media gathering, local BJP workers' gathering made the scenario ugly during ambulance inauguration, temple visits in MLA Mimi Majumder's constituency Badhaghat. The BJP MLA is famous for social distancing violations in the recent times.

Question is if the role model political leaders make such blunder, how people will pay respect to such leaders and how the public will be serious about COVID-19 ?
India might take few months to control COVID with vaccination drive completion but amid such crisis, being a CM does it suit him to set negative examples in the society ?
