KAMALPUR, Dec 10 (TIWN): Poor service in BSM Hospital, Kamalpur created much problems for the ailing patients. Patients and relatives alleged that, the nurses often neglect their duties especially in the cases of pushing injections and salines.
As a result, often the old and babies suffer from extra bleeding and pain, as the GD staffs push saline and injections, instead of nurses. More importantly, the lack of proper surveillance and medical facilities in some cases added to the plight of the commoners. In fact, the higher-up officials of the health department are quite aware of the shortcomings, but initiated no steps yet.
Several times, the patients complained to the authority, but without results so far. This hospital was established way back in 1952, as a result of the initiatives by then Congress MLA Late Sunil Chandra Datta. But after the death of Late Health Minister Bimal Sinha, the ruling party renamed the hopsital and its new building after the deceased leader in 1998.
