AGARTALA, Dec 24 (TIWN): Taking on media, the MLA said, “We decided to pay tribute to the former prime minister Atal Bihar Vajpayee by placing his statue before Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cancer Centre. We invite the Governor and the Chief Minister of the state to the event. Amid preparations, police officials from the NCC outpost came and seized everything. They arrested the workers who were working to set up the statue.
Later, the workers were taken to court today and released on bail. Besides, a case was also filed against the MLA at Agartala NCC Police Station.
However, while serving as health minister, Barman declared to construct the statue before hospital. Other dignitaries including the Governor of the state were also informed.
He ended up saying "He whose thoughts are bad can never rise".
