AGARTALA, Nov 3 (TIWN): Fines of Rs. 5,000 have been imposed on shop-keepers for keeping extra charges of vegetables, specially onions in Agartala market.
Talking to media, DCM Animesh Dhar said that taking 80 rupees price from the shop-keepers is totally illegal and the price at maximum at any quality to be kept at Rs. 62 or at max Rs. 70.
"This is quite surprising that many Shop-Keepers are lying about vegetable rates before administrative team and taking extra rates from customers", said Sadar DCM Animesh Dhar. ​​
The administrative team had checked all the prices in the market and asked the shop-keepers to tell them the correct price. In Tripura vegetable prices have skyrocketted and in compare to other states, vegetable prices are double usually here in the state.
