AGARTALA, Aug 10 (TIWN): Tripura’s Healthcare under doldrums as daily death march continues due to negligence. A family has alleged medical negligence in IGM hospital after their family member died and till COVID-test no doctor touched him, but amid COVID-19 test, he died. The deceased has been identified as Pradip Ghosh (50), resident of Badharghat, Agartala. According to the patient party, Pradip Ghosh is a regular patient and has habitual problem of being intoxicated often and he needs regular saline therapy as he loses consciousness due to weakness. Last, he was diagnosed at Hapania’s TMC hospital and was cured followed by saline process. Today, Pradip Ghosh was failing at his health and his wife anyhow gave him some electral.
Then he was okay but very weak. She wanted to give him saline in home, but her locals suggested her immediately to take him to IGM hospital. But after coming, the hospital took him for CT scan, an AC room and after he was brought out of there, he finally died. These all have been alleged by the family members.
The family came on protest after the authority asked for his COVID-19 test.

“They are just mad about COVID-19, but we the regular patients are the victims of it. No Doctor touched him, which is very tragic”, lamented the family.
Payel Ghosh, daughter of Lt. Pradip Ghosh said, “My father’s condition was not well from yesterday. He basically doesn’t have any disease, but regularly falls sick. My father was taken to emergency first and then asked to take to the outdoor. One saline was given but we were just rushing with the patient from upstairs and downstairs. His situation was very bad. After CT scan, then he was again brought to emergency and then asked for COVID-19 test. But he was no more.
COVID-19 tensions have hit the state, whereas many people already alleged that instead of focusing of treatment each patient is suspected as COVID patient, causing life-losses.
Recently occurred Lt. Bina Pani Roy’s death was the tragic who was wrongly tested as COVID-Positive.
Calling Lt. Bina Pani Roy's unfortunate death as a "murder" in medical negligence, TIWN Editor Saumen Sarkar in his Sunday talk-show has bashed the Health Dept's failure under Biplab Deb Govt. Addressing the state live in his Facebook, TIWN Editor Saumen Sarkar said, “In last 1-Week, the positive development has been about the withdrawal of the illegal suspension order of Dr Uttam Bhattacharjee under media, public and Doctors led protests by Biplab Deb Govt, proving when public raise voice, the Dictatorship automatically gets weaken".
