AGARTALA, July 5 (TIWN): When Police have stopped opposition CPI-M’s silent protest in Agartala, the BJP and Viswa Hindu Parishad held celebrations by violating social distancing. In such a move, 3 persons loaded bikes were seen raising ‘Jai Shree Ram Slogan’ and many were not properly wearing masks also. At the same time, Police in the same city had stopped oppositions’ protests who were to stage protest silently. Police have allegedly stopped CITU from protesting although the non-containment zones were announced with Unlock-Measures.CITU was to protest with various issues with silent display of banners but police sent them back to the party office. Ironically, the BJP has continued programmes in Tripura and in Rakhi festival also, in various places, gatherings were made.
As CITU has not gotten any permission from police today to protest, former Minister Manik Dey has slammed police’s biased roles, asking, why the BJP activists are allowed to protest.
