AGARTALA, Jan 20 (TIWN): Reacting over the attitude of Deputy speaker of Tripura Assembly Biswabandhu Sen, former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has slammed BJP’s style of ruling which always tries to impose own thoughts in the name of “majorityâ€.
Manik Sarkar said “Majority is not the last word in the Democracy” after opposition CPI-M MLAs walked out of Tripura Assembly today when Deputy speaker stopped the discussion on a custodial murder at West Agartala PS recently.
Addressing media, Manik Sarkar said, “Opposition will raise question, it is very natural. An issue needs clarification from the CM and CM stood to clarify and then the speaker is saying that it is not possible”.
“The speaker is not allowing the opposition even to speak. Since he became Deputy speaker, he started this and may be that’s why he was selected”, said Sarkar.
“In the name of majority in Parliament BJP is trying to push the whole country under their feet and in Tripura also same. As a result, whole country is burning”, he added.
