AGARTALA, Jan 17 (TIWN): Opposition CPI-M MLAs today have walked out of Tripura Assembly in protest against cases registered against former CPI-M Minister Badal Chowdhury in a PWD construction.
Banners were displayed in demand of withdrawal of fabricated cases against Badal Chowdhury before the speaker and the walked out in protest.
Thus, on the first day of Assembly, the Assembly was boycotted today by Leftist MLAs in protest in the same protest. The MLAs demanded withdrawal of the case and also expressed resentments on lower Court's role for not giving bail to Badal Chowhdury.
Badal Chowdhury was arrested in a politically motivated case on a PWD construction work and Govt of Tripura brought tremendous mental and police tortures upon him in last 3 months during is custody, although the PWD work itself was approved by PAC.
