AGARTALA, Nov 25 (TIWN): Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar today has visited slain police officer late Durga Chandra Hrangkhawl’s home at the Debthang area of Teliamura, who was killed by drug smugglers on November 21st night.
Meeting Manik Sarkar, the slain officer’s family members expressed extreme displeasure about the slow investigation process and no arrest of the criminals who killed him.
Meeting the family members, Manik Sarkar said that the honest police officer had to give his life and if Govt/ administration display any kind of weakness before the criminals then it will encourage criminals more.
On Thursday night, 3 Phensedyl smuggling convoy circled honest police officer Durga Chandra Hrankhawl and murdered him by overrunning vehicle over slain officer.
The incident took place at Sonamura-Boxonagar road at around 11.30 pm when on being informed via secret sources Karamchara Police led by Durga Chardra Hrangkhawl rushed to the spot and chased the vehicle. At first a Swift car rushed over the police official whereas more vehicles came behind it. After the incident immediately he was taken to Boxonagar hospital and referred in GB. Today around 9.50 am he breathed his last.
These phensedyl carrying vehicle has killed the police officer was a sub-inspector appointed in Karamchara PS named Durga Chardra Hrangkhawl.Today he was paid the last tribute by the Police and State administration.The murder took place when the police official was doing his duty honestly and stopped the vehicle. The smugglers ran the vehicle over the police official.
