Two TSR battalions to be disbanded in Tripura, one battalion to be sent outside : Draconian measures indicate BJP’s Misrule

AGARTALA, July 6 (TIWN): In a draconian measure, Tripura Govt has decided to disband two TSR battalions and for that purpose Govt has constituted a committee.
In an official letter (No-1295-1300/ F.2..(5)/IGP/(TSR)/2019), Tripura I/C-DGP Rajiv Singh has said, “A committee comprising of 6 officers is hereby constituted to work out the modalities of the disbanding two battalions of TSR and also the modalities of deployment of one TSR battalion outside the state”.
The officers which will hold the committee are :
- Inspector General of Police (TSR & Ops) – Chairman,
- Inspector General of Police (ADMN) – Member,
- Deputy Inspector General of Police (AP) , Tripura – Member,
- Commandant – 1st Battalion TSR - Member
- Asst IG of Police – (TSR), PHQ, TPA - Member
In each battalion 1000 people approximate works, whereas Jobs curtailment fear may grip the TSR jawans.
