AGARTALA, June 20 (TIWN): Situation yet alarming in Tripura with malaria outbreak continues to claim lives.
A 6 years girl named Barnamala Tripura has died at Chamanu’s East Govindapur areas’s Wadok-chara village.
Even though the Govt has taken certain initiatives but the disease is yet affecting people in deep rural areas like every year.
The state govt of Tripura has started blood sample collections in Jhumia areas as the state is suffering from seasonal malaria disease.
Identification of Jhumias and their Jhum cultivation and sending information to the SDMOs, CMOs about the Jhumias available places are going on in full wave at Dhalai District.
Govt has also taken initiative to take regular sample of blood of the Jhumias that includes before going from Jhum cultivation, when they come to market places for and even going to Jhum cultivation sites,
Special observation has been taken around the rubber cultivation zones.
For awareness purpose, the District malaria officer has been asked to prepare a video on malaria and related issues which may be shown in the market areas. This task has been given on most urgent basis.
