AGARTALA, April 8 (TIWN): Resigned IPFT Vice President Ananta Debbarma on Monday cried before media after joining Congress, while remembering Tiprasa people’s urge, sacrifices for Tipraland and a revolutionary “Rasta-Roko” movement which has been destroyed by the present leaders of IPFT.

Ananta Debbarma also blasted Minister Mebar Jamatia for his “deep-nexus” with BJP and close relation with BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav.

Ananta Debbarma said, “In 2017’s Rasta-Roko movement for Tipraland, people of the indigenous people gave away their moneys, savings, rice and all necessary items of their houses, but today under few leaders, the dream Tipraland is collapsed”.

Commenting on IPFT President NC Debbarma, Ananta Debbarma said, “I still trust NC Debbarma, I obey him but NC Debbarma doesn’t have power to hold sons like Ananta Debbarma. He (NC Debbarma) lost all his energies” and while saying this, Ananta Debbarma broken down in tears.

The Vice President of IPFT has joined Congress leaving IPFT due to IPFT’s deep nexus with BJP by vanishing of Tipraland dream. At the same time, Citizenship Amendment Bill, Forest Land Rights issues were not allowed by IPFT leaders to raise as BJP instructed from centre.

In this situation, Mangal Debbarma joined Congress alleging “unavoidable” circumstances happenings in the party.
