AGARTALA, April 7 (TIWN): At least 3 persons were arrested at Taidu for attacking MP Jitendra Choudhury on Friday during a public rally.
At the same time, one person was arrested at Mandai for attacking CPI-M office on the same day.
The action came from police after Election Commission had ordered Tripura Police to take strict action against the miscreants.
However, so far the actions are not at all satisfactory as the police officer who was addressing media was referring about attack an attack one BJP party office, whereas till day various similar cases were registered by the opposition including beating of CPI-M activists in Bamutia under MLA Krishnddhan Das’s observation.
Police however added, all the pending cases will be restarted.
Following the violent attack on MP Jitendra Choudhury at Taidu in Amarpur on Friday during a public rally, CEO Sriram Taranikanti on April 5 had asked Gomati District Police to arrest the culprits immediately.
Police’s action came after the order from CEO.
