AGARTALA, April 5 (TIWN): CPI-M National General Secretary Sitaram Yechury will kick off a rally at Agartala tomorrow.
CPI-M has nominated two of its sitting MPs Sankar prasad Dutta (West Tripura) and Jitendra Chaudhury (East Tripura).
Yechury’s rally will be staged at the Rabindra Bhawan premise in Agartala at 2 PM.
Tripura Lok Sabha Election to be conducted on April 11 and April 18 consequently for its two constituencies East and West Tripura.
In all, 18 candidates are contesting the Tripura West seat and 10 in the Tripura East constituency, reserved for the indigenous people.
30 Assembly segments exist in each of the two Lok Sabha constituencies -- Tripura East and Tripura West -- and one all-women polling station would be set up in each Assembly segment following an advisory by the EC.
A total of 26,05,325 people, including 12,85,618 women, are eligible to cast their votes.
