AGARTALA, Feb 19 (TIWN): Due to fund crisis, Tripura 22,000 km road specially in the rural areas left without maintenance.
As a result, Govt now will draw funds from various departments through agency-charge, which were served by PWD for maintenance work.
With that collected money, the roads will be repaired.
Earlier Govt had imposed cess upon fuel for road repairing and multi-crores collected, but those were not sufficient for the whole coverage of road-maps. As a result, Govt has decided to start collecting agency-charge for further road-repairing.
However, so far no road was repaired and with the monsoon’s arrival public agonies likely to be increased if immediately roads are not repaired.
