AGARTALA, Feb 12 (TIWN): Controversy erupted centering EVM / VVPAT’s safety in Tripura and a fresh allegation was brought by Congress this time.

A Congress leader said, the boxes inside which VVPAT / EVMs were brought in Umakanta School found unlocked.

“It proves it was a ghotala”, said the Congress leader.

“When we denied to participate in the procedure of Election Commission, then from office it was asked to check the boxes inside, but same unsafe, unlocked EVM boxes are inside the Umakanta school”, the Congress member told media.

The matter has been taken to EC.
