AGARTALA, Jan 22 (TIWN): Northeast state Tripura has been geared up to celebrate Republic day, which will mark on January 26.
Schoolwide preparations to be taken place for 26th January programmes across state. Parade preparation of peak at Assam Rifles ground.
Republic Day is an important national holiday that commemorates the establishment of the Constitution of India.
The adoption of the constitution marked the transition to full independence from Britain as it ended Lord Mountbatten's role as governor-general of India.
26 January was chosen as the date for the adoption of the constitution as it was on 26 January 1930 when the Declaration of Indian Independence was proclaimed by the Indian National Congress.
