AGARTALA, Jan 19 (TIWN): On the occasion of 41st Kokborok Day a massive rally was organized at Agartala City.

From various cultures tribal girls and boys participated in that rally supporting Kokborok language’s promotion.

The rally was led by Chief Minister Biplab Deb and Education Minister Ratan lal Nath.

The programme was initiated with welcome song and lamp lightening.

The Kokborok is a language of Borok people who are geographically known as Tripuris. It is one of the State Languages of Tripura notified on January 19, 1979. The TTAADC has declared the Kokborok as official language of the TTAADC on April 20, 1999. Tripura’s Kokborok language is rapidly gaining
