SABROOM, Nov 1 (TIWN): Chief Minister Biplab Deb has conducted a Janata Durbar along with his Chief Secretary L K Gupta at South Tripura.

The Durbar was held in the town hall of Manu Bazar, Sabroom subdivision, South Tripura Dist.

However, it can be said here, CM's Janata Durbar has lost its popularity as no outcome is see after such Durbars. Also the numbers of Janata Durbar is being decreased. 

CM Janata Durbar from 3 times meeting the mass, now has been merged as ‘weekly’ and people can meet Biplab Deb only at Secretariat with “Pre-Booking”.

But earlier (in CPI-M's time) everyday before the Ministers’ quarter area people gathered and met the Chief Minister, Ministers directly.

If the Ministers, CM were not available in residence then they couldn’t meet. Ofcourse, in odd cases (like RMSA, SSA) where the Ministers will put under questions, often such meetings were avoided especially ahead the election.

However on that time, doing protest, demonstration were also common practices, which today are no more possible even after Court’s order.

But this common practice of meeting the Ministers have now turned almost impossible under the code of “Janata Durbar”.

Present CM Biplab Deb meets one day to the people, whereas the previous CM Manik Sarkar and Ministers meet 7 days except exceptions
