AGARTALA, Sep 10 (TIWN): Congress activists have protested before Congress Bhawans across Tripura, as a part of demonstration during 12 hours strike.
At Agartala tires were burnt by NSUI, Youths Congress activists as a part of protesting against massive fuel price hike under Modi Govt.
Picketers have remained active since morning, but unwanted incident was avoided. Tight security blankets have been covered the motor stands, Railway station, govt offices.
Markets have remained closed, transports were halted due to the 12 hours strike.
On the background of the strike, holding a press conference, Manipur MP Thokchom Meinya on Sunday hit the Modi Govt with allegations of tax looting from common men with fuel price hikes in last 52 months of ruling at Centre.
Thokchom Meinya said, "Due to the tax levied by the Modi Govt on fuel, there are high hikes of petrol, diesel as well as cooking gas. It has already looted 11 lakhs crores plus in last 52 months from fuel taxes and the common men are the ultimate sufferers".
