AGARTALA, Sep 6 (TIWN): Tripura Congress has slammed the BJP Govt for increasing fuel price across the state.
“As you know petrol price are increasing each day. When Modi Govt came in power in 2014 since then the petrol price has been increased at least 50 % more”, Gopal Roy said in a press meet at Congress Bhawan.
“Before 10 years during UPA Govt’s time the hiked petrol price reached at 50.52 rupees and diesel 37.76 rupees. But right now in Tripura petrol price is at Rs. 78 and diesel crosses Rs. 70”, Gopal Roy told media.
“In other states the condition is worse”, added Roy.
Petrol prices in Agartala have been turning more volatile, as prices of crude oil have been showing a firm trend. Petrol price in Agartala on yesterday was Rs. 77.78.
The rupee has also moved lower against the dollar, which has made petrol prices in Agartala more expensive than before.
It is hoped that the government can reduce excise duties, so as to enable rates to become more cheaper in the coming days.
