AGARTALA, Aug 19 (TIWN): On the occasion of 110th birth anniversary of Tripura’s visionary king Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya, a rally was conducted by ‘Maharaja Bir Bikram Welfare Society’ here in Agartala.
The rally was participated by huge numbers of tribal youths, students in their traditional costumes. A huge numbers of students from Drop-out Coaching Centre have also walked the rally.
Bir Bikram Kishore Debbarman Manikya Bahadur (1908-1947) was a king of Tripura State. He was succeeded by his son, Maharaja Kirit Bikram Kishore, who was the nominal king for two years till the state's merger into India in 1949. He was the pioneer of modern Tripura.
