Agartala, Sep 16 (TIWN): With the intention to prevent spreading of Malaria in Tripura state and in response to request from Minister of Health, Shri Badal Chowdhary ONGC stood by its commitment and today flagged off a truck load of 7000 medicated mosquito nets for the worst affected Dhalai district of the state, from ONGC base complex at Badarghat.
ONGC Asset Manager V.P.Mahawar stated that in the month of July, 2014 ONGC had already distributed 2200 medicated mosquito nets and injections for infants & children worth of Rs. 2 Lakh to the affected people in north & south Tripura. Asset Manager categorically stated that these efforts are being carried out to prevent the reoccurrence of malaria epidemic in the state. Further 1000 medicated mosquito nets more are slated for distribution in Belonia, South Tripura as advised by Health minister.
ONGC Tripura asset has regularly taken and supported initiatives to supplement the efforts of State Government during natural calamities and epidemics. Apart from that ONGC also conducts regular health camps on its own near its operational areas in various parts of the state.
