AGARTALA, July 26 ( TIWN): While replying on Udaipur attack on CPI-M's unpermitted rally, Tripura Ex CPI-M Minister Basal Choudhury said, "It's a National protest where we participated. When whole nation protested and why not we ? It's democracy".
"When protests were going on in the Parliament, outside the Parliament for Tripura, how can CPI-M be silent in Tripura ?", said Badal Choudhury.
The CPI-M leader further informed, the next protest will be held on August 9, when CPI-M will hold nation wide protests and it doesn't matter whether BJP Govt gives them permission or not.
The protest will be as a part of Anti-BJP movement under "BJP hotao, desh bachao slogan ".
“No democracy is existing in Tripura under BJP Govt. Elected members were forced to resign from their posts”, Choudhury said citing example of Udaipur Municipality Ex-Chairperson Subrata Deb’s case. For Tripura there was a massive country-wide protest and here will not we hold rallies in prominent places ? Police did not know about such a nation-wide protest it’s not possible”, Choudhury added.
