AGARTALA, September 8 (TIWN): A huge rally was organized by Department of Physiotherapy, Tripura Institute of Paramedical Science (TIPS) to celebrate World Physiotherapy Day-2014 on the theme of fit to take part at Agartala here today.

A faculty member of the TIPS said that the World Physiotherapy Day marks the unity and solidarity of the physical therapy community and it is an opportunity to recognize the work that physical therapists do for their patients and community.

Physiotherapy or Physical therapy is a health care profession which includes examination, treatment, advice and instructions to any person preparatory to or for purpose or in connection with movement dysfunction, body malfunction, physical disorder, healing, pain from trauma, diseases from physical and mental conditions using physical agents including exercise, mobilization, manipulation, mechanical and electro therapy, usage of devices for diagnosis, treatment, prevention and cure of medical problems, the faculty member added.
