AGARTALA, May 25 (TIWN): National Commission for Women leader Sushma Sahu at the end of her two days long visit here in Tripura has announced to develop the jail infrastructure for women, so that not only they can live in a better way inside the jail but also can prepare themselves for the future.
After visiting at Bishalgarh Central Jail, Sahu said on Friday morning, "Central Govt has directed National Commission of Women to upgrade the conditions of the imprisoned women. Not only living standard of the women at prisons but how to develop the training infrastructure for women at there special focus has been laid on that issue, so that they can become self dependent after coming out of jail".
"Generally the imprisoned women after being released from the jail are being isolated by the society, even her family also rejects her. So to train them properly about how to become independent without going in wrong paths, the upgradations of infrastructure is necessary", Sahu told media.
The Commission leader also said, the Govt will be requested to increase their wages which is right now only 20 rupees per day.
"Also the National Commission for Women will arrange bank accounts for the women so that they can save those moneys. With that saved money they can begin a new life after coming out from jail", Sahu said.
