12 rescued from burning Mumbai building, fire doused

Mumbai, June 3 (TIWN) At least 10 persons, including 2 children, were rescued from the top floors of a 15-storied building in Cuffe Parade where a fire broke out here on Wednesday, officials said.
The blaze was noticed in a residential flat on the 11th floor of the building, and the rescued persons were trapped on the 13th and 14th floors.
The fire brigade deployed ladders to rescue all of them, including a woman stuck in a closed room.
Fireman Shailesh M. Paste sustained minor injuries during the operation and was sent to GT Hospital for treatment.
The BMC Disaster Control said that 7 fire-tenders including 3 jumbo tankers were rushed to the spot and fire was doused in around an hour, with cooling operations underway.
