Houston, Jan 24 (TIWN) One person was injured and nearby houses were damaged in an explosion at a manufacturing plant in the US city of Houston on Friday, the media reported.

According to a leading US media outlet, the blast took place at Watson Grinding and Manufacturing in the early hours of Friday.

Firefighters were on the site to douse the blaze.

A video that was posted on micro-blogging site Twitter shows the blast, followed by a rising fireball.

The Fire Department said one person has been hospitalised.

The local residents said their buildings shook following the explosion.
