Kabul, March 3 (TIWN / IANS) At least 20 people were killed and 10 others reported missing after flash floods hit Afghanistan's Kandahar province, authorities said on Sunday.
Triggered by heavy rain since Friday, the floods have also destroyed homes and swept away vehicles, UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Afghanistan said in a statement.
"The Provincial Disaster Management Committee has convened an initial meeting and rapid assessment teams have been deployed," Xinhua news agency quoted the statement as saying.
