AMARPUR, Jan 17 (TIWN): Since years, the tower of Doordarshan at Amarpur was left in pathetic shape without maintenance.

However, today when engineers had come to repair it collapsed over nearby houses.

Fortunately nobody died in the incident but the TV tower's collapse had created heavy sounds across there.

Two houses were heavily damaged including a cemented house.

But locals alleged that even after informing the fire brigade, no action was taken against it.

Locals have also demanded compensation of the losses.
