AGARTALA, Jan 15 (TIWN): It was a time when University students could travel at 15 rupees from South Tripura by TRTC and others hardly at Rs. 30 but now under the Transport Minister Manik Dey, the TRTC bus service has stopped services since many days which were functioned to travel in long distances, but the State Transport dept has no headache to recover the vehicles.
TIWN visited the TRTC stand after much complaints received by the passengers, but it was seen that deplorable shape of TRTC has left almost all the vehicles non-functioning. Asking the drivers, they said State Govt is not helping in maintenance of the buses.
Only 2 TRTC buses are working one for the GB hospital and another is for the jail and rest of the others are left damaged.
Resentments have brewed among the passengers as due to lack of TRTC buses, all have to travel in private vehicles or public buses. In other districts also the condition is more or less same.
