DHARMANAGAR, Jan 14 (TIWN): One housewife named Pritama Malakar (42) allegedly was brutally raped, murdered on yesterday night at Patyekroy area of Dhamanagar. Her body was found in a pond, far from 1 and half KM away from her house.
Her husband Dhirendra Malakar told police that at around 3.30 AM she went outside for natural works. But after certain times, he understood that she had not returned.
Then a constant search for Pritama had begun across the village but nowhere she was found.
At last in the morning her body was found clothless. Her family members have broken down in tears, cries after the incident.
Dharmanagr Women Police told TIWN via phone that police is investigating the case and will arrest the culprits soon, but what happened with her nothing can be said right now.
Her body was sent for post mortem.
On the occasion of Makar sankranti this incident has once again reminded public about the increasing crime rates against women in the state. Among the total crimes take place in Tripura, 86 % are crimes against women and everyday 2 rapes are reported.
