AGARTALA, August 20 (TIWN): The training for teachers in the state has turned to a farce. In the so-called golden era, the guidelines of RTE and NCTE are nothing but a hoax from the part of the government.

Allegations were raised that in the joint initiative of state government and IGNOU, training has been conducted for Under Graduate and Post Graduate teachers, while it was supposed to be conducted only for primary teachers.

Though SSA provided the allocation for the training, yet the SSA teachers have been deprived of training. The name of the training course being conducted recently is- Diploma in Elementary Education Programme. The training is only for elementary stage, that is, primary teachers, according to School Education Department.

But, the School Education Department played a mockery in selection of candidates. The Science teachers, who were recruited as Madhyamik level teachers in 2012, were selected for primary level training. Also, the department had selected PGTs for the training.

Instead of the SSA teachers, Madhyamik and Higher Secondary level teachers have been called for training. Questions were raised among the teaching section over the issue. If the issue comes before the Modi government, the Left Front government may face a huge problem.
