Agartala, August 16 (TIWN): Complaint lodged against CPIM MLA Lalit Debbarma. He is accused of disobeying the National Anthem. Retired teacher Abanish DebRoy had registered the complaint.
On Friday, 15th August on the occasion of Independence Day - a Govt Programme had been organized at Ambassa’s Kolai. In that program - 47 Ambassa (ST) Assembly CPIM MLA Lalit Kumar Debbarma was sitting on his chair when National Anthem was in progress at Government Programme.
As per the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act. Act No; 69 of 1971 – its an act which prohibits discretion of or insult to the country’s National symbols, including the flag, map , constitution and anthem.
As Such the law recognizes the case under Section (A) National Flag and Constitution (b) National Anthem. As a result accused should be convicted and penalties demanded against him.
Retired teacher Abanish Debroy already lodged complaint against the MLA. Police is investigating the video footage.
Now people of Tripura would like to see whether District Police Administration shows some spine to arrest this rulling party MLA or bow down to the pressure of Political Masters.
