AGARTALA, August 16 (TIWN): Police launched a search operation but his body could not be traced till reports last came in. A total of 17 divers are searching for the body and the divers are now searching the entire Dasamighat area said a duty officer. A 18-year-old boy jumped into the river Howrah from a wooden bridge at Pratapgarh on Friday.
The boy, identified as Litan Deb resident of Ramakrishna Para under east pratapgarh. According to the eyewitness, Litan jumped into the river to collect the wooden logs which were going through the river.
Local people of the area then alerted police.
We are probing the matter. "As of now, we are still inquiring into the incident. The body is still missing. We'll be interrogating everyone including his friends, family members and people close to him," added a police officer
